English Butcher, Benavista, Marbella

Finding meat that you are use to in the UK can be a struggle sometimes in the supermarkets here.

There is a Butchers in Benavista, which is between San Pedro and Cancelada called The English Butcher and they sell practically everything including Sausages, Beef, Chicken etc.

Address : Urb Benavista, KM167, Local 11. Go past San Pedro towards Estepona and its on the Right Hand Side before the Cancelada turn off.

Estate Agents in Nueva Andalucia

In Nueva Andalucia there are a number of Estate Agents. The Estate Agents here all have a central database, so basically they all have the same properties on. Personally, I would go through someone on recommendation, i.e, a friend who has bought or rented already.

Unlike the UK, which has the Ombudsman (a regulatory body), here in Spain it is unregulated.

You will find prices for the same property different, you will find details say 5 minutes to Puerto Banus, which is 5 minutes, by Concorde! You will think its a legal building...and its not. You have to be very careful here. Many Estate Agents lie to get the deal so it can go on the sales board for their targets.

Also, always try and find your own solicitor rather than the one recommended and, dont feel pressurised to go with the Mortgage Company or the Furniture Company they provide. You can end up spending triple your budget if you are not careful, and its very very easy to loose sight of your budget when you are wrapped up buying a property and with the the sales staff with you all the time, pressurising you for time.

December 6th Holiday in Spain

Today, December 6th is Constitution Day in Spain, another Spanish Bank Holiday.

Practically everything is closed today. La Canada, El Corte Ingles are closed 6th December and also 8th December.

The only place really open today was Agro Jardin, the garden centre in Estepona.

Many offices and schools will be closed Thursday as well so they get a long holiday.
