Sean Stiff Marbella

Sean Stiff was sentenced today for 9 years.  He was a golf pro and lived and worked here on the Costa Del Sol at El Soto De Marbella Golf Course.

He had been guilty of sexually assaulting a child from age 8 for 5 years whilst giving golf lessons.  You can read the full story here by The Daily Mail

Its all a bit close to home and very upsetting.

The Costa Del Sol is full of clubs and classes where you can leave your kids.  But who are these people?   All I can say is get recommendations and also get their full real name and search for yourself on the internet.

Benahavis Market Sunday

Lately we have been finding ourselves at Benahavis Car Boot Sale Market on a Sunday.  Last week I actually did my second boot sale.  Had an awful position, but did sell a lot of stuff considering.  For a few hours on a Sunday I was very happy with what I got, well worth getting up for.  Its really busy now with loads of stalls and you do have to get there early to get in the best part of the market.  Last week I arrived at 7.40 and was put at the very back extra bit where the sun is off it by 12 so its dark and cold and people don't really want to walk around that bit.

Today we got some bargains.  Brand new puzzle for 2€, Fruitilandia which is a kids milkshake maker. My daughter has put this on her Christmas list every year for about 3 years now but at 40€ for some plastic I just wouldn't buy it.  But found it today, boxed, if been used, only once for 2€uros.  Batteries for it cost me 6!  Then some great dessert glasses which I had been looking for.

Its quite a nice atmosphere, lots of people selling.  There are some stall holders that really do just want to get rid of stuff (like me) and get rid of stuff cheap and then there are those that have stupid prices for a boot sale.

Definitely something for a Sunday in Marbella.

Follow the road to Benahavis and its on the right hand side.  Sunday Morning from about 7 till 2.

Windy Weather in Marbella

Wow, yesterday what a mess Marbella was in.  Firstly in our own house we have a tree that is huge come out of the ground.  Waiting for gardeners to come tomorrow to help put it back and hopefully will be ok.

Yesterday morning my OH went to the far end of Marbella and he said there were trees on cars and they were flattened.  On car showroom´s glass window was completely smashed in and all the glass was on all the expensive cars.

Later on we had to drive to Fuengirola and all along were trees blown down, signs broken and lots of other mess.

It was really quite bad here yesterday.  Today, its all a lot calmer with beautiful blue sky, sun, just a little chilly.

Fines for Dogs not on Leads

I heard today that the Police have been along the Paseo in Marbella, by Puente Romano Hotel and fining people whose dogs are not on a lead.

This is great news, because it has just got ridiculous the amount of dogs, big, strong dogs loose and also little schnips that look pretty vicious too.

But, my concern is the inconsistency.  Just the other day, the police were stopped chatting to their friends...whose dog was not on a lead.

Also, I hope they make sure they fine the people with these huge dogs rather than just the people with tiny little dogs.

For me, as I have mentioned before, I sit on both sides of the fence.  I do have a dog and he does love to be free and run around.  But I also run and bike ride and with more and more dogs loose its causing a lot of accidents.

So beware...the fines are pretty hefty at 300 to 500€urns per dog.

Movistar La Cañada Marbella

It looks like Movistar is opening up in La Cañada in yet another new position.  They are opening at the first entrance to Alcampo from Habitat direction.
